In modern life we are subject to a number of regular stress inputs, they may not feel overtly stressful yet the calls, texts, social media alerts, news, emails, work duties, bill commitments, relationship awareness and many others obligations or “to-do’s” have an undercurrent of stress. When in the stress response our bodies react; our heart and breathing rate quickens, pupils dilate, digestion slows and a cocktail of hormones flow through our bodies to help us react to the stressors, we may not feel these effects, yet they are there. Being in this state for an extended amount of time is where health can deteriorate, be it physical, emotional or mental.
